Emerge’s 1st Annual Koinonia Forum & Conference Agenda

In a recent survey by creditable research firms such as the Pew Research Center and Barna, there were 3 statistics found that should cause alarm among Christians. First, only 39% of Americans believe Christianity should influence their decision making. Secondly, 51% of Christians have never heard the term "The Great Commission". To conclude, the research revealed less than 30% of Christians share their faith with non-believers. It has been stated that Culture is the report card on Christianity. If we were to scrutinize secular and church culture our report card would fall way short of Gods will and purpose, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” What Biblical response is required for reproof? Is there supposed to be a Christian response? If so, what does it look like? These questions and statements are not hyperbole just so you will attend some conference. It is a plea for you to join us in intentional discussions on the Biblical roles of evangelism/mission, the church, and the responsibilities we are commanded to fulfill in Scripture. Please join us at Black Mountain this October!

Guest Speaker:

Emerge Ministries Chairman of B.O.D. Bennett Holloway

As an Executive Pastor he is head over all staff, finances, Personnel Team, Stewardship Team, Nominating Team, facility, all ministries. He leads and teaches in Wednesday Night Services, and occasionally on Sundays. He has a passion for teaching God’s Word, for investing in building the church and ministries, and building the staff up to execute the mission of the church. His story has been one that speaks to the faithfulness of Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. It is the byproduct of obedience and the provision of the Lord. When his wife, Lauren, and himself moved to North Carolina their son Bright was one year old. Lauren was pregnant with Boulder and their daughter Story, was not even in the picture yet. They came to live in a state where they knew no one and where they were twenty-one hours from all they family, to serve in a church that had been through a lot. It was a step of faith to follow God’s direction to New Bern. While here, he has grown in his relationship with the Holy Spirit tenfold. He have encountered a taste of what God has in store for him and he love encouraging others in their relationship with the Holy Spirit as well. His roles as husband and father have also drastically shifted. He has experienced the impact of counseling in his personal life, and he has seen the healing that comes through forgiveness. He has begun new pathways of thought that are in line with his shifted perspective of how He sees him. As one would assume, this impacts how he is as husband, father, and pastor.
