Emerge Ministries has just returned from our 2nd Quarterly Life Event of the year in Columbia South Carolina. Emerge has in the last eight (8) years, continued a thirty-seven (37) year legacy of Prison ministry in South Carolina. We constantly strive to do it with the spiritual excellence that has marked the ministry since its inception by AL Lewis. This past ELE Event was no exception, we saw:
527 in attendance110 salvations including 1 officer& 13 recommitments
Our kingdom focused vision of intentional training, coordination, and mobilization of the church has directly led to our long-term sustainability. Volunteers working closely with Emerge creates a ministry environment that reflects a decent and orderly flow of both organization and spiritual issues. Consistently serving one another while also serving others is the essence of these crusades which continue to bear fruit.
Starting in August, the Camille Graham Facility, will be added back to our roster. This will increase our quarterly crusade services to approximately twenty-one (21) per weekend. We are hoping to add Kirkland Facility soon. As we rebound from Covid and continue adding more facilities more volunteers are needed. We need your help. Recruiting volunteers is essential to meet the needs of the incarcerated who are lost and in need of Jesus Christ in their lives. Volunteers are also vital to continue support of the inside church and become part of follow-up after they are released.
Emerge realizes that our partnerships with volunteers must extend beyond our ministry. During the week of our June Emerge Life Event, Executive Director, Dr. Norris, met with Neil Dickerson, the North Carolina Representative for Hope Center Ministries and Jimmy Braddock, Regional Coach with Recovery Church of Columbia SC. During these meetings they discussed volunteer recruitment and follow-up aftercare for inmates after being released. This will ensure that the community can fulfill the Great Commission by ministering inside prisons and discipling those that are re-entering into society.
Through these intentional collaboration efforts Emerge is seeking earnestly to create long term sustainable change not through a single person or ministry but by a kingdom minded vision. By bringing the different parts of the Body of Christ together we can reach unity in the faith and produce a reformation of evangelism, church, and discipleship in America.
