A Homecoming Gave Jon a Different View of Emerge’s Work

Jon helps keep things moving behind the scenes at Emerge. As a staff member working in administrative support, he doesn’t often get to meet the families or see the homes connected to his everyday work. That changed when he and his family attended the homecoming for Emerge’s first home rebuild in Buncombe County following Hurricane Helene. Alongside the director and other staff, Jon met the homeowners and saw the house in person for the first time. He got to see a different side of the ministry, and hearing the homeowner express gratitude for Emerge walking this journey with them made it especially meaningful.

For Jon, the visit was a chance to see what God was doing through the work he helps support. He saw it as a small picture of what God has done, is doing, and will continue to do as the team walks in faith and follows His will. Seeing the impact on this family encouraged him in his own role. We’re thankful for each person who has a part in this work, and we invite you to join us. Pray for families recovering from Hurricane Helene, come serve with our team, or give to help support the recovery effort.
