Forgiveness That Leads to Restoration

Does God use shame to correct His children? One man asked Emerge volunteer, Kyle, that question after a message on forgiveness during an Emerge Life Event at Kirkland Prison in Columbia, SC.

Their conversation turned to Hebrews 12 and how God disciplines His children for repentance and restoration, not hate and shame. It reflected the heart of the message: we, the Church, are called to restore one another with love, as our Lord does. Several men shared that they had been studying biblical forgiveness for weeks and praised God for confirming what they had been learning through the message Kyle shared.
