Jason’s Testimony

Jason is a disabled single father who is raising three minor daughters. Their mother passed away 10 years ago.  Emerge found them living in a shed and camper after their family home, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom structure located beside a creek, was completely destroyed during Hurricane Helene.

As the floodwaters rose, Jason and the girls were forced to evacuate and climbed atop a stone shed for safety. From there, they watched as their home, belongings, and irreplaceable keepsakes—including baby pictures and the ashes of both Jason’s father and the girls’ mother—were swept away.

The family spent several months bouncing between temporary shelters and trailer parks before returning to their land.. Thanks to generous donors, a camper was donated.  Despite limited means, Jason has taken proactive steps in rebuilding—restoring his septic system and reconnecting electric utilities through what little funds he received, most of which was used for septic work, electrical repairs, and essential items for his daughters.

Emerge found out his land was not rebuildable and with the help of donors, is in the process of purchasing land and building him and the girls a 3br, 2 BA home.

He has agreed to enroll in financial counseling through Emerge Ministries to gain the tools and guidance needed to create long-term stability and self-sufficiency for his family’s future.
